"Breaking Down the Potential of the Dallas Mavericks' New Dynamic Duo"

Just two seasons ago the Dallas Maverick's made a risky move to trade for All-Star guard Kyrie Irving. Everyone knows the talent the Kyrie posses and there is no denying the accomplishments that he has achieved, but recently many have come to believe that Kyrie is bad for team morale. There has a been a stigma that has came to light about Kyrie in that he is difficult to deal with and brings down what ever team he is on. Many people criticized the Mavs organization for letting other All-Star guard Jalen Brunson walk in the off season, and in stead opting to go in the direction of picking up Kyrie.

Lots of people questioned this duo and wondered how two ball dominant players would fit together. Everyone, since the Mavs have acquired Luka in the draft have put high expectations on them, and sadly they have never really had the talent in the past few years to get to the finals as the have fell short numerous times. With Luka now playing some his best basketball of his carrier and with Kyrie picking up his play as well there seems to be a change of heart for this new formed duo. People now notice how happy Kyrie and Luka seem to be when playing with each other and it shows in their performance. They have finally clicked, and the rest of the NBA and its fans are finally starting to take notice.

The Mavericks started their season off slow and many thought they would continue this all season long. The last stretch of the season so far the Mavs have drastically improved there performance and are now sitting in the 5th seed spot in the talent filled Western Conference. Kyrie and Luka seemed to have found the key to their success as they are winning crucial games in the key part of the season. Heading into the play offs, how it stands now they will be facing the LA Clippers in the first round. This will be a star studded matchup with Kyrie and Luka facing off against Paul George, Kawai Leonard, and James Harden. Both Kyrie and Luka are know for their elevated level of play in the playoffs and both of their clutch ability. This should help the Mavs as they strive to make a deep run into this years playoffs.

The Mav's also made another two key acquisitions this season before the trade deadline that should be rewarding the rest of the year. Trading for PJ Washington and Daniel Gafford, has added much needed inside presence and defensive improvement. Ever since adding these two we have seen Kyrie and Luka also elevate their own level of play. The Mavs now have all the pieces they need to be a championship level team and contend with any other team in the stacked Western Conference.

Moving forward, we will see how much damage this duo can really do. As hype builds around the two and with the Mavs as a whole having quite the group of people on their backs with high expectations, we will see if they can face these expectations head on and prove all of the doubters wrong who never believed that this duo would work out.
