Erik ten Hag stays at Manchester United!

Updated: Jun 13

After conducting their end-of-season evaluation, Ineos and Sir Jim Ratcliffe have opted to retain Erik ten Hag as manager of Manchester United.

After Ten Hag's 2-1 FA Cup final triumph against Manchester City, they had been waiting for a verdict for almost two weeks, and their future had been in doubt. That occurred after United concluded the season in eighth place, their lowest-ever Premier League result.

United had reached out to possible dugout replacements, including former Brighton & Hove Albion head coach Roberto De Zerbi, former Bayern Munich boss Thomas Tuchel, recently fired Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino, Brentford head coach Thomas Frank, and Ipswich Town manager Kieran McKenna.

However, the decision to proceed with Ten Hag was taken via a procedure headed by INEOS sporting director Sir Dave Brailsford and United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

In terms of transfers, United is still connected to a number of players before the market opens. Jarrad Branthwaite of Everton is at the top of their want list, and there are rumors linking them to Benfica's Joao Neves as well as Crystal Palace's Eberechi Eze and Michael Olise.

The transfer window will be essential to Ineos's hopes of making the much-needed improvements at United this summer.
