Inside Out 2: What to Expect?

Disney's newest sequel will be in theaters this Friday, so what do fans want to see?

The film premiered in L.A. on Monday to generally high reviews. Rotten Tomatoes' consensus, with an average critic rating of 7.4/10, reads, "Spicing things up with the wrinkle of teen angst, Inside Out 2 clears the head and warms the heart by living up to its predecessor's emotional intelligence."

Disney Pixar has a clear objective with this film: be relatable, be entertaining, and be new. We can see this modeled in the setting and characters, the well known Pixar style, and the change in plots with the sequel (if you don't know yet, Riley's head is being further stuffed with four new emotions: Envy, Ennui, Embarrassment, and Anxiety, with Anxiety heading their pack). According to critics, fortunately, they have pretty much succeeded, and we can all be sure that something so familiar as this would be too big to fail.

It's still pretty early to think about where this might go. Would another film star somebody else's mind? Are there deeper, more complex feelings that can play newer roles in the story? In my opinion, this will probably lack a third film, but we can be sure that Inside Out 2 will be one of the most empathetic movies of the year.
