Brandon Aiyuk displayed over the last two seasons that he is the best wide receiver on the 49ers, and one of the best in the NFL. Even though San Francisco has been successful, he is disgruntled there and wants out.
Aiyuk has hinted at wanting out multiple times this offseason. Sharing cryptic posts, conversations with Jayden Daniels and more. The 49ers would love to bring their All-Pro wide receiver back in order to chase a Super Bowl.
They met with the star receiver this past week to discuss a major contract extension, and apparently the meeting went well. The problem is, it is taking very long for an agreement.
Multiple teams have been rumored to try to acquire Aiyuk. Washington, Pittsburgh, Indianapolis and Jacksonville were teams that were attempting to get him. Any of these teams would become threats if they add a player like that.
It is likely that Aiyuk remains with the 49ers, but don’t rule out a trade just yet. If San Francisco loses him, it will be a key loss to an already stacked squad. The longer negotiations go on, the more teams will offer even more in a potential blockbuster deal.
