Paul George signs to the 76ers

Paul George has agreed to a 4 year $212 million dollar contract with the Philadelphia 76ers. After long deliberation with the LA Clippers, George made his decision to join Philadelphia.

George is a nine-time NBA All-Star, and has been a top 25 player for a majority of his career. He joins a 76ers team led by former MVP Joel Embiid and reigning Most Improved Player Tyrese Maxey. This trio is automatically one of the best in the NBA, on paper.

Philly has struggled to make it past the second round in recent years, and they are hoping George is the answer to these problems. They have had teams good enough to make deep playoff runs, but injuries and simply falling short have been the issues.

Joel Embiid’s health is the biggest determining factor with the 76ers. He has suffered a different injury every season, and it has been hard to endure. His talent level is through the roof, but his health has always been a major concern.

Paul George’s health is also worrying, as he’s been hurt in recent seasons as well. The Clippers fell short many times due to his and other players’ injuries.

As long as this Philly team is healthy, they should be able to make a deep playoff run. With Tyrese Maxey at the point, George at the small forward position, and Embiid at center, the spacing is near perfect. The question is, will the Sixers finally have it in them to finish the job?
