Tee Higgins re-signs with Bengals

After being franchise tagged in February, Tee Higgins asked for a trade from the Cincinnati Bengals. This past week, the Bengals announced that they re-signed Higgins to a one year deal.

The 25 year old standout receiver has logged 3,684 yards and 24 touchdowns in his career so far. He will make $21.8 million on the franchise tender this season, but Cincinnati has until July 15 to sign him to a long term deal.

“I’m excited to move forward with Tee,” head coach Zac Taylor said in a statement. “He’s done a great job handling his situation, and we are happy to get him back in the fold so we can start working toward a great 2024 season. The locker room will be excited to have him back around.”

The Bengals have the duo of Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase, which is one of the best in the NFL. Chase is also due for an extension soon, and Cincinnati has to make a move quickly.

If Cincinnati doesn’t give Tee Higgins a long term deal, this means he will most likely leave when he’s a free agent next year. There are many contending teams that would love to have a player like him.

Joe Burrow led the Bengals to a Super Bowl appearance with Higgins and Chase. As long as this trio can stay healthy, they have another shot of reaching it again.
