Texans acquire Stefon Diggs

The Houston Texans joined the NFL back in 2002. Since then, they have been one of the more mediocre teams in the league. They have had some bright moments with guys such as Andre Johnson, JJ Watt, Arian Foster, Deandre Hopkins and Deshaun Watson, but CJ Stroud has shifted the entire culture of the franchise.

CJ Stroud led the Texans to the divisional round of the playoffs last season, and things are looking even brighter for the 2024-25 season. DeMeco Ryans has led this young and hungry Houston team to heights people didn’t imagine. Houston had one of, if not the best offseason so far. They loaded up on an already solid defense by signing Danielle Hunter, Azeez Al-Shaair, CJ Henderson and Jeff Okudah. On the offensive side, they picked up Joe Mixon, who is coming off a 1,034 yard and 9 TD season. The biggest splash the Texans made though was acquiring Stefan Diggs from the Buffalo Bills, only for a second round pick.

Adding a wide receiver like Stefon Diggs pushes the Texans into contender territory. Along with Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Dalton Schultz, CJ Stroud has a killer receiving core. This Houston team can compete with a lot of teams in the AFC. Whatever you do, do not sleep on them. The addition of Diggs will have opposing secondaries struggling to keep up, Tank Dell being a number three receiver is spooky. Stroud will only get better as time progresses, and he should be in the MVP conversation for next season.
