What are the Bulls doing?

The Chicago Bulls simply have one of the worst front offices in the NBA. They have not accomplished anything since the Michael Jordan era. After a recent trade that sent Alex Caruso to OKC in exchange for Josh Giddey, the Bulls organization is getting questioned once again.

The Bulls have struggled to be championship contenders in the last 20 years. The Derrick Rose era was the highest point of contention in recent years, but that was only an Eastern Conference Finals berth.

In the last few years, Chicago has been a play-in team, and struggling to make the playoffs. The future looked slightly bright when they had the core of DeMar DeRozan, Zach Lavine, Lonzo Ball and Nikola Vucevic. This squad had a hot start but quickly fizzled out due to injuries. Ball has been out for two seasons but is on track to come back next season.

Zach Lavine has been on the trade block for the last two years, but the Bulls will not budge. Moving Lavine, DeRozan or Vucevic for young pieces or draft picks would be ideal for Chicago to have a bright future. Lonzo Ball is also rumored to be bought out this summer, and if he is, Chicago will have to fill another void at the point guard position.

They acquired Josh Giddey in exchange for Alex Caruso, which was one of the worst moves possible. Giddey is coming off his worst season as a pro, and Caruso is a lockdown defender. This is just another move Chicago has made that is questionable, and shows that their front office doesn’t have a clear direction for the team.

The Chicago Bulls must rebuild, it’s as simple as that. Trading their veteran players for young talent and draft capital would be their best move. Post Michael Jordan, the Bulls have been a shell of their former selves. To get back to glory, a massive change must be made.
