When will Mike Trout finally want out?

Mike Trout has been considered one of the best players in the league ever since he debuted in 2011. There is one thing about his illustrious career though, he hasn’t won a championship or even a playoff series. When will he finally want out of Los Angeles?

Trout has racked up a boatload of accolades and accomplishments. He is a three time AL MVP, a nine time Silver Slugger Award winner, an eleven time All-Star and a two time AL Hank Aaron Award winner. He is considered one of the greatest talents of all time, but his tenure with the Los Angeles Angels has held him back severely.

What is holding Trout back from wanting to leave the Angels? Money is definitely a factor here, he signed a 12 year deal worth $426.5 million dollar contract back in 2019. That deal might’ve ultimately ended his chances of ever winning a championship in the MLB. Unless he asks out, his championship hopes are very bleak. The Angels have not made the postseason since 2014, one of the longest active  playoff droughts in the league.

Trout is one of the greatest talents of all time, but his all time status will always come to a halt due to the lack of postseason success. At some point, he should ask for a trade from the Angels, if he truly wants to win. If he is content with being home in October every year, then he should stay. I think baseball would be more fun with Trout in the playoffs, it would be great for the game to have one of the greatest to ever do it compete for a championship.
