Where do the Bills go from here?

After the shocking trade that sent Stefon Diggs to the Houston Texans, the Buffalo Bills are a huge question mark in the AFC. Josh Allen is still a top five quarterback in the NFL, but he can only do so much for Buffalo. Where do they go from here?

The Bills have had a rough offseason thus far, not only did they lose Diggs, but they also lost Gabe Davis. The duo of Diggs and Davis produced a lot for Josh Allen, combining for 1,929 yards and 15 TD last season. With those two guys gone, Buffalo’s WR room includes Curtis Samuel, Khalil Shakir, Mack Hollins and Andy Isabella. This is a massive downgrade for someone like Josh Allen, who has had at least 4,200 passing yards in the last four seasons.

On the defensive side, Buffalo lost Jordan Poyer, Tre’Davious White and Micah Hyde. A lot of experience has been lost. It makes you truly wonder, what is the ultimate goal here for the Bills? They are in the AFC East which includes the rising Dolphins and the win-now Jets. 2024 included a stacked free agency class, and the Bills didn’t really take advantage.

Do the Bills still have a solid team? Yes. Will they contend for a championship? Absolutely not. The AFC has too many opposing threats for Buffalo, and after their disappointing offseason, there’s no way they will be in contention. Teams such as the Texans, Chiefs, Ravens, Bengals, Jets, Browns and Dolphins stand in their way.
