Will Tee Higgins ever get traded?

On March 11, Bengals star receiver Tee Higgins asked for a trade. Higgins has been the number two receiver on Cincinnati for the last few seasons behind Ja’Marr Chase. Contract disputes might be a reason why for this trade request, or it’s him wanting to be a number one option on a different team.

The Bengals reached the Super Bowl back in 2022, and the league was put on notice. Cincinnati had a young and dynamic team that teams struggled to stop. They even defeated Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs, something that teams usually do not do. Joe Burrow showed that he was one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL, and the duo of Chase and Higgins were a big reason for that.

Higgins recorded a total of 2,120 yards and 13 touchdowns between 2021 and 2022. He proved himself to be one of the best second option receivers in the NFL, and teams took notice of it. These two seasons showed that he can be a number one receiver on many teams.

After his initial trade request in March, many teams made calls to the Bengals. Now it is May and Higgins still hasn’t been traded. It is shocking that Cincinnati hasn’t given him an extension by now or fulfilled his trade request. Many are speculating about what’s truly going on behind closed doors.

The Bengals are still very much a contender if they keep the trio of Joe Burrow, Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. If they do trade Higgins, the return has to be valuable. Replacing his type of production will be difficult to do.
