Will the Nuggets repeat as champs?

The Denver Nuggets have been the most dominant team in the NBA. They have been fighting for the number one seed all season, but it seems that no other team can beat them in a seven game series. When you have the dominant force of Nikola Jokić on your side, your chances are very high.

With a current record of 47-21, Denver looks to secure another championship. Nikola Jokić is the current MVP favorite, deservedly so. He is averaging 26 points, 12 rebounds, 9 assists and shooting over 58% from the field. Jokić is simply the most dominant player in basketball right now. Many players around the league have said how hard it is to contain Jokić, and it’s clear to see.

The Nuggets surrounded their two time MVP with the perfect squad. Jamal Murray averages 25 points in the postseason. Trading for Aaron Gordon was one of the best trades in recent history. Drafting Michael Porter Jr at pick 14 was an absolute steal. Having a shooter such as Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is a key factor. Denver also has their group of scrappy guys: Christian Braun, Peyton Watson, Reggie Jackson and Justin Holiday. A lot of these names may not be hall of fame material, but they get the job done. It’s all about team effort, and the Nuggets have that in every aspect.

After their near perfect 2023 NBA Playoffs run, the Nuggets are looking to repeat. It is truly difficult to see any other team beating them in a series. They have depth, shooting, defense and they are led by the overwhelming MVP favorite. Not to mention, Michael Malone is the head coach. Every team wants a guy who will instill fire into their team. Malone has established himself as one of the top coaches in the league. I see Denver repeating this season, and Jokić winning his third MVP award.
