Six weeks into the 2024 NFL regular season, the Washington Commanders are looking like one of the best teams in the league right now, with rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels and head coach Dan Quinn proving to be the right combination for this storied franchise heading into a new era in the nation’s capital.
Although the Commanders are coming off only their second loss of the season, losing to Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens, Washington proved it could hang with perhaps the best team in the league, which is great for this team’s confidence moving forward.
However, the team did suffer a costly loss to the defensive side of the football, with two-time Pro Bowler Jonathan Allen going down with an injury.
According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Allen has suffered a torn pec, which will cost him the rest of the season, dealing a big blow to this promising young team, which Quinn addressed.
“We’ll certainly miss him this season,” Quinn said.

It is not easy to replace a player of Allen’s caliber, and it will undoubtedly be a challenge for Quinn and his coaching staff moving forward, but this team is rolling and might not miss a beat with the way they’ve been playing.
In Week 7, the Commanders will have an opportunity to bounce back with a vengeance as they host the lowly Carolina Panthers at Northwest Stadium.
This game will be an excellent chance for the Commanders to get back to form before taking on the Chicago Bears on Oct. 27 in a highly anticipated matchup between Daniels and Caleb Williams.
