Adam Azim maturing in and out of the ring

ADAM Azim reckons fans will witness an improved, more mature performer in the ring against Ohara Davies on Saturday evening. The Slough prospect, 11-0 (8 KOs), is looking to take another steady step towards world-class in the Copper Box Arena headliner.

ā€œMy personal opinion is, just from looking at the fight back in February, Iā€™ve changed most of my stuff because I know what I did wrong. Thereā€™s a lot of stuff Iā€™ve changed. Thanks to the McGuiganā€™s Gym for getting me this fight,ā€ he told Sky Sports at the midweek media event.

ā€œIā€™m getting better every single time. My learning is coming from the gym. I learn every single day from the gym. And obviously, a big up to all the other coaches and all the team I have there. Itā€™s just like, as a man, Iā€™m maturing because I know how to handle things now. Itā€™s not just from the boxing perspective.ā€

Azim will need to be on his game if he is to deal sufficiently with Davies, who has mixed with a higher level of opposition and is out to prove that he is more than just a stepping stone to the next level.Ā

At just 22, Azim is still growing into his 140-pound frame, but with a European title already on the CV, ā€˜The Assassinā€™ is a target for plenty of his contemporaries. They will have to contend with a more seasoned operator if and when he eventually meets some of them.

ā€œItā€™s just me as a person. Iā€™m just maturing as a man. This is me developing as a man now,ā€ Azim confidently explained.
