The opening phase of the 2024/25 campaign has been tough for Crystal Palace and Oliver Glasner but the recent form of the London outfit will give fans of the Eagles hope heading into the January transfer window.
Palace currently find themselves 16th in the Premier League having picked up just their second win of the season against Ipswich Town on Tuesday night. This continues a good run of form for Glasner’s team as the London side have only lost one out of their last seven matches in all competitions.
There would have been relegation fears at Selhurst Park throughout the opening weeks of the campaign but Crystal Palace will look to put that behind them with good results and some signings in January.
Mistakes were made when it came to recruitment during the summer and unhappy about this, Glasner has admitted that the Premier League outfit won’t repeat this during the upcoming window.

Glasner saw seven players arrive at Selhurst Park in the summer, along with several big departures, with Eberechi Eze one star linked with a move away in the coming weeks. Of the group to join, four were deadline-day additions which is something the Austrian coach is keen to avoid repeating in January.
The 50-year-old wants any business done early in the window and informed the press of this before Crystal Palace’s match with Ipswich on Tuesday.
“It’s not that we have a big summary, there’s no time to make a summary on the first 13 games,” Glasner said via WearePalace. “It’s pretty clear that how we acted in the summer shouldn’t be repeated in January.
“We should do much better altogether. This is what we are preparing.”
It remains to be seen what areas the Premier League club will address, with attacking and defensive talent expected to arrive for the second half of the 2024/25 campaign.
