DeSean Jackson Has Landed A New Coaching Job

The NFL world might soon see one of its most electrifying players step into a completely different role.

DeSean Jackson, the former Philadelphia Eagles Pro Bowl receiver who hung up his cleats in November 2023, is reportedly on the verge of becoming a college football head coach.

Jackson’s 15-season NFL career was nothing short of spectacular. The three-time All-Pro selection rewrote the record books with his explosive plays, holding the marks for most career touchdowns of both 60-plus yards (26) and 80-plus yards (5).

His career receiving yards exceeded 11,000, but his impact on the game went far beyond the numbers.

Delaware State appears to be Jackson’s destination for his coaching debut.

According to reporter Jeff Lightsy Jr., Jackson recently completed an on-campus interview, and both parties are working toward finalizing an agreement.

While Jackson has never held a coaching position before, this opportunity aligns perfectly with his long-held dream of coaching at a historically Black college or university (HBCU).

He would replace Lee Hull, who parted ways with the program earlier this month after a challenging 1-11 season.

Jackson’s NFL career was marked by groundbreaking achievements. He stands alone as the first player to earn Pro Bowl honors as both a kick returner and wide receiver.

While his journey took him through several teams including the Los Angeles Rams, Washington, Tampa Bay, Baltimore, and Las Vegas, his legacy was cemented during his remarkable six-year stint with the Philadelphia Eagles.

In 95 games wearing Eagles green, he established himself as one of the franchise’s all-time greats.

His 6,512 receiving yards rank third in team history, while his 379 receptions and 35 receiving touchdowns place him sixth and ninth respectively.

His prowess as a punt returner was equally impressive, ranking second in returns (132), third in return yards (1,296), and sharing the team record with four punt return touchdowns.
