Layla Diggs, Carlee Bright & Kendal Grey def. Lainey Reid, Wendy Choo & Kali Armstrong
After a six-Superstar melee concluded last week’s edition of NXT Level Up, the participants clashed in NXT Level Up’s first and only Six-Woman Tag Team Match, which pitted Layla Diggs, Carlee Bright and Kendal Grey against Lainey Reid, Wendy Choo and Kali Armstrong.
After being isolated by all three of her opponents, Bright finally made a diving tag to Diggs, who clobbered her foes with clotheslines, spinning heel kicks and a handspring splash that resulted in a two-count on Reid.
With all six competitors brawling in and around the ring, Diggs tattooed her nemesis Reid with a pump kick and a nasty scissors kick to the back of the neck to secure the three-count.
Dante Chen def. Keanu Carver – Gauntlet Match
In a fitting conclusion to NXT Level Up, “The Gatekeeper of NXT” Dante Chen took center stage for a grueling Gauntlet Match without knowing the identity of his opponents.
Chen’s first test was the menacing Keanu Carver, who shook the ring with a scoop slam and again with a powerslam.
Chen withstood the early barrage, however, and escaped Carver’s clutches before sending him chest-first into the turnbuckle and catching him in a rollup for the three-count. Now one for sportsmanship, Carver immediately responded by planting Chen with a sky high.
Dante Chen def. Harlem Lewis – Gauntlet Match
Chen, who earlier in the day spoke passionately about the chance to compete in NXT Level Up’s final match, was next greeted by Harlem Lewis, who was all too eager to take advantage of Carver’s assault by immediately going for a pinfall that resulted in a two-count.
Lewis employed an aggressive attack that featured a suplex and several vicious stomps.
Despite absorbing punishment from his hard-hitting opponent, The Gatekeeper attempted to catch Lewis in another rollup. Lewis rolled through the potential pinning combination, but he walked directly into a decisive Chentle Touch seconds later.
Dante Chen def. Kale Dixon – Gauntlet Match
Gasping for air and struggling to get back to his feet after two grueling bouts, Chen found himself face-to-face with Kale Dixon, who arrogantly bounded to the ring and began stomping his opponent.
Perhaps believing that Chen would be exhausted from his two prior matches, Dixon took time to break out the “Dixon Dance” and mock the crowd.
Dixon crossed a line when he mimicked Chen’s signature pose and went for the Chentle Touch, however, and he was greeted with a nasty kick to the face. Chen followed with a pump kick and one last Chentle Touch that turned Dixon inside out and secured the three-count.
Receiving a deafening ovation from the NXT Arena, Chen struck his pose and stood tall in the center of the ring as NXT Level Up concluded for the final time.
